Custom Designed Cake Time Frame

To allow time for consultation, research, design and quoting, extra time is required when ordering a custom designed cake. As a guide, some custom orders can require 3-4 weeks notice. We find it best to apply as soon as you know you would like a Burnt Butter custom cake!

Custom Design Cake Application & Availability

We are currently taking on a limited amount of in house designed custom cakes. To assist us manage this process we would love you to apply (via the link below) to utilise this service. Please be sure to read through our Custom Designed Cakes info before applying.

When custom designing cakes we only design cakes within our kitchen’s current skill ability and design style. Should your request not fit into these parameters we will politely decline your request. (Many thanks in advance for your understanding.)

Please note we don’t copy other cake designers designs but we can use them as inspiration if they are inline with our style.

Custom Design Cake Pricing

Starting prices can be found by scrolling down to the bottom of this page, remembering these are starting prices and final prices will be impacted by your chosen design, level of design difficulty and design discussion time.

Custom design fees usually start around $30 (in addition to your cake price) but can vary depending on the amount of research or consultations required. This will be incorporated into your quote.

Custom Design Cake Appointments

Please note once your request has been accepted, a custom cake appointment in person or over the phone is required for this service. Please be sure to call ahead to arrange a time to ensure we are available to assist you. Appointments are held within our shop or over the phone and are usually conducted early in the week. (Away from bustling opening times & weekends!)

We will contact you to arrange a time for a cake consultation.
Cake consultation over the phone or instore
We will forward you an email after your consultation with the design/s discussed and pricing which will be valid for 5 business days
Once you have approved your quote we will forward you an invoice.
Any changes to finalised orders may incur an alteration fee
